Three Fact Guide On How To Download Homebrew PSP Software

The PSP is one of the best portable gaming consoles out there. Not only can it play PSP games, music and movies; it also can be made to play games of other consoles too!

So how is this even possible? Well, to take advantage of this unique aspect of the PSP, you need to get you hands on a piece of special 'homebrew' software. Often these homebrew software downloads are referred to as 'PSP emulators'.

As soon as you download homebrew psp software, you can really widen the scope of games you can play. However, please take care to note that although downloading and installing an emulator isn't (technically) illegal, downloading certain 'free' console games so that you can use them on your PSP emulator may be.

So here are three quick facts on how to download homebrew PSP software:

Fact One

All a PSP Homebrew (emulator) does is it makes your PSP games console work as though it were a different games console. For example, if you own Nintendo gameboy game, and you downloaded a Nintendo emulator onto your PSP, your PSP would now be able to play your Nintendo Gameboy games with ease!

Fact Two

Finding PSP emulators is very easy. A basic web search into the term 'PSP emulator' will provide you with a great many websites and forums that offer PSP emulator downloads. However, your best option is to start by searching for emulators on large official PSP downloading websites. They offer you the opportunity to download emulators for your PSP (as well as downloading a wide range of legal games, music and TV shows).

Fact Three

Make sure PSP emulators can run on your PSP's current firmware. Currently, only PSP's that have firmware versions 1.0 and 1.5 allow emulators to run on them. You can quickly check your PSP's firmware version simply by scrolling left on the PSP's main screen and selecting the options in the following order: SETTINGS > SYSTEMS SETTINGS > SYSTEM INFORMATION > SYSTEM SOFTWARE. The SYSTEM SOFTWARE option should show you your PSP's firmware version number.

Three Steps On How To Find And Download PSP Wallpaper

The PSP is a superb games console, that can allow you to download and play games, music, movies, and even images to display on your PSP screen. Still, sometimes trying to find new wallpaper images for your PSP can be very confusing.

However, you can take away much of the confusion if you follow these three simple steps to finding and downloading PSP wallpapers that you'll love. That way, all you'll have left to decide, is which wallpaper you want to download first!

STEP ONE

Check your firmware!

Make sure you have the right PSP firmware version. You are going to need version 2.0 or above for the wallpaper function to work on your PSP.

To check your PSP firmware version select the options on your PSP screen in the following order:

SETTINGS > SYSTEMS SETTINGS > SYSTEM INFORMATION > SYSTEM SOFTWARE.

The SYSTEM SOFTWARE option should show you your PSP's firmware version number.

STEP TWO

Find some PSP wallpaper!

There are a number of websites offering free wallpaper designs for your PSP. For security reasons (mostly to guard against possible PC viruses) it is better if you download your PSP wallpapers from large legal download websites, rather than small independent websites.

Also, visit active PSP forums and get advice as to where other people have received their PSP wallpaper. Chat with them to see which websites they have found to be the most trustworthy.

STEP THREE

Get it onto your PSP!

To get your wallpaper image from PC onto PSP, connect your PSP games console to your computer using a USB cable. In 'My Computer' your PSP is the G: drive.

Now download and save your wallpaper image onto your PC. Simply drag and copy your saved wallpaper image onto your PSP games console.

Once you have the wall paper on your PSP, go to you PSP main menu, select the image and choose to "Set As Wallpaper".

Now you are all done!

PSP Beginners Guide: Find And Download PSP Emulator Software

The PSP is the latest in portable gaming technology, and everyone who owns one gets great value in being able to download and play all manner of games, movies and music on their PSP.

However an even better feature of the PSP, is that you can actually use it not only to play PSP games, but to also load and play all of your other console games (for example Nintendo Gameboy games).

To take advantage of this unique feature, you first need to download a piece of software onto your PSP, called an emulator (or sometimes referred to as a 'homebrew').

An emulator is simply piece of software that causes your PSP to act as though it were an alternate games console, such as a Super Nintendo or a Sega Genesis.

Once you have loaded an emulator onto your PSP, the emulator will allow you to play other gaming conole games on your PSP. However, please note that although downloading and installing an emulator isn't illegal, downloading games to use on your emulator may be.

SO HOW CAN YOU GO ABOUT FINDING AN EMULATOR FOR YOUR PSP GAMES CONSOLE?

Well, first of all, before you can begin to search for and download an emulator for your PSP, you need to check what firmware version your PSP games console has.

This is because, the only PSP firmware versions that you can download a game onto are versions 1.0 and 1.50, as currently the firmware versions 1.51 and above, won't allow you to run an emulator.

You can check the firmware version on your PSP console, simply by scrolling left on the PSP's main screen and selecting the options in the following order: SETTINGS > SYSTEMS SETTINGS > SYSTEM INFORMATION > SYSTEM SOFTWARE. The SYSTEM SOFTWARE option should show you your PSP's firmware version number.

Now that you have checked that you have the right firmware version, you can now go about looking for an emulator.

The best option for PSP games console owners, is to start by searching for large official PSP downloading websites. They offer you the opportunity to download emulators for your PSP (as well as downloading a wide range of legal games, music and TV shows).

You can also try doing a search for your required PSP emulator (for example, typing in Nintendo PSP Emulator into a search engine). Although be warned, that the software you download from small unofficial websites may do more harm to your PSP games console, than good.

Why Finding A Demo Game, For PSP To Download, Can Be A Chore!

The frenzy surrounding the PSP games console has now reached dizzying heights. Everyone, whether young or not so young, have all received a great sense of enjoyment out of the device.

And as a result the Portable Sony Playstation (PSP), now has such a wide range of games made available for its format, that it should come as no surprise that there are many PSP game demos out there.

Basically, a game demo, is a small sample of the full games release. Usually game demos have only the first and/or second stages of the full game available for you to play; others give only limited playing options (you then have to purchase the full release to get all of the playing options).

Still, searching for a PSP demo game can be laborious, since there are so many options out there! So if you like the PSP, and you like console games, where can you start to look for some free PSP demo games?

Well, here is a three step guide to helping you find the PSP games that you want:

STEP ONE - Find Large Official Download Websites.

Despite there being a great many websites out there, all hosting game demos for download, there are only a couple of official ones that I would recommend.

First off, one good website that has a lot of PSP demos available is www.Download.com; they are a large site, and do not allow any illegal copies to be made available through their website.

The second, is a popular freeware website called www.free-windows-games.com that has an ever expanding catalogue of free for download computer game demos.

STEP TWO - Use The Search Engines.

You other option is to simply do a basic internet serach for demos. However, you should be cautious and wary of anything you download from a website. If they aren't a major or an official website company, you may simply be downloading a virus that can cause your PC problems.

STEP THREE - Buy a Magazine

Your final option is to look at gaming or computing magazine. Usually, large computer gaming companies issue their game samples to these magazines, in an attempt to reach their readership. So have a browse through the magazines rack, next time you visit your local store, and see whats on offer.

So as you can see, demo games are easily available, and can be a great way for you to try before you buy; allowing you to see if a game is fun enough for you to spend your cash on!

Three Facts On How You Can Find And Use A PSP Downloadable Game

The PSP is a great gaming device, that can allow you to download and play games, music, movies, and so much more. However if you are a new owner of a PSP console, searching and finding new games for you to use on your games console, can be confusing.

Well, here are three facts about finding a PSP downloadable game. Read them before you do anything else!

FACT ONE: FIRMWARE

Before you can begin searching for and downloading you favorite PSP games, you need to first check your PSP to find out what version of firmware it currently has. Essentially, firmware is the operating system that runs your PSP. Right now, the only PSP firmware versions that you can download a game onto are versions 1.0 and 1.50. This is because, in order for you to download a PSP game, you need to be able to run an emulator on your PSP (currently the firmware versions of 1.51 and 1.52, won't allow you to run an emulator on your PSP).

You can quickly check the firmware version on your PSP console, simply by scrolling left on the PSP's main screen and selecting the SETTINGS button. You then scroll down to SYSTEMS SETTINGS and select it. Then scroll down to and select SYSTEM INFORMATION. Now under, SYSTEM SOFTWARE, it will have your PSP's firmware version number.

FACT TWO: EMULATORS

You need to find and download software onto your PSP that will allow you to transfer games onto it. This software is commonly referred to as an emulator or 'homebrews'.

Now there are certain legal issues surrounding emulators, that should be cleared up here.

An emulator is simply piece of software that causes your PSP to act as though it were a different games console machine. Currently there are many emulators available for the PSP, such as a Super Nintendo emulator, Game Boy emulator, Sega Genesis emulator, etc.

These emulators will allow you to play respective games on your PSP. Although downloading and installing an emulator isn't illegal, the games you use on your emulator may be. There are many online PSP download websites that are illegally sharing games. You need to be vigilant against these types of unscrupulous websites.

FACT THREE: FINDING LEGAL GAMES

Essentially, when trying to find games for their PSP, most people will search for and use an online legal PSP downloads website. You could go to smaller independent websites, but they tend to have illegal copies of games on offer.

The main question you need to ask yourself before downloading a PSP game from any website is what kind of customer service do they offer?

Nearly all of the illegal or fly-by-night PSP downloading services, will have next to no customer service. So a website that offers full customer support will be able to fully answer your queries about the downloads they have on offer through their website.

PSP Music Guide: Three Steps On How To Download Software For PSP Users

The Portable Sony Playstation (PSP) is a multimedia device that can allow you to play, not just games and video, but also music. So how can you, as a PSP owner, begin downloading music onto your PSP?

Well here is a quick guide for beginners, on how to convert your current music files into PSP format audio files:

Step One --- Download The Software

First of all, you need to download software onto your PSP that allows you to convert MP3 files into PSP MP4 format. One of the more popular PSP convertor software out there, is the Xilisoft CD Ripper and Xilisoft PSP Video Converter.

Xilisoft PSP Video Converter is a superb MP4 video converter which helps you convert video to Sony PSP movie (.MP4 file).

This PSP Converter can convert most of the popular music and video formats such as MPEG, WMV, AVI, DVD and so on. Its best attribute is that it breaks down all of the, sometimes complicated, conversion processes into easy to follow steps.

Download this software (currently the Xilisoft PSP Convertor is available as shareware for the price of $29.99), and install it.

Step Two --- Converting Audio CD's

Now start up the Xlisoft convertor and load your audio CD, selecting the option "Lame MP3 Encoder" for your PSP. You then click on the "Extract and Encode" option in the "File" menu. This will now begin the conversion process. For audio files, load the files up into your PSP by clicking on the "Add" button (or you can choose "Add" in the File menu).

Highlight the loaded audio files and choose output format from the "Profile" box. Make sure that you select "PSP Audio Format" for your PSP. Once done, click on the "Browse" button, and select the folder where you would like to store and save the output file.

Now click on "Encode" to start the conversion and once it is completed, you will have the PSP (MP4) format version of the audio file on your PSP.

Step Three --- Converting Audio Files On Your PC

Simply connect your PSP to your computer. In the "File" folder, the "H:" Drive is your PSP drive. Simply drag and copy your audio files onto your PSP.

Now you should be able to listen to your favorite music on your PSP!
